Heart of the city. You can see for miles from it. The Forth bridges, The Pentland Hills, Calton Hill, Corstorphine Hill, and every other historic landscape Edinburgh has to offer. It can be expensive, but worth a visit.

The Royal Mile is integral, as part of Edinburgh's history. It runs from The Castle at the top to The Palace of Holyrood House at the bottom. There are many streets and closes off of the Royal Mile. They are all interesting in their own right. The Museum of Childhood is situated half way up, as is The City Chambers, which has underground tunnels and passages, suitable for ghost tours. It is a brilliant day/evening out for the whpe family

Ocean Terminal has lots of shops, bars and restaurants under one roof. It also has a Vue Cinema, and access to the Royal Yacht, Britannia. Outside the Terminal you can access many buses to the city centre, the airport, fife and other places. \the shops are interesting and varied. Marks and Spencers food store, Debenhams, Schuh, and many others.
