Just 5 minutes walk from the house is Dorothea quarry, one of the most beautiful quarry lakes in Wales. Stunning scenery is guaranteed regardless of the weather, with amazing colour contrasts between the sky, slates, mountain landscape and still deep waters.
At over 100 metres deep with underwater tunnels and forests, Dorothea is a delight for the experienced diver.
There have been many fatalities in these waters over the years, usually as the result of divers going beyond the limits of their equipment and in some cases, resurfacing too quickly.
