Outline of Nijo Castle
The early Nijo Castle buildings were built in 1603 by Tokugawa Ieyasu, the first shogun of the Tokugawa reign, as his villa in Kyoto. The third shogun Iemitsu expanded it by integrating the structures moved from Fushimi Castle, once properties of Toyotomi Hideyoshi, and completed the enhancement in 1626.

Fushimi-Inari is famous for its "Senbon Torii"or 1,000 torii gates.
Actually, it has much more: altogether 10,000 torii gates in the mountain.
A torii gate is generally regarded as the gate to the shrine precinct, which separates the Shinto realm from the real world. That's why you see some torii gates at the entrance of the shrine ground.
Why are there so many torii gates here?
Because the shrine is dedicated to the god of” business prosperity” as well as "dreams-come-true."
All of the torii here are donations from the general public; people build a torii gate to thank the god.

This is Higashiyama-ku's most famous temple. Most visitors come for the magnificence of its height and view, which are so well known to the Japanese that the idiom "jumping from the veranda of Kiyomizu Temple" means that they're about to undertake some particularly bold or daring adventure.

The official name of Kinkakuji Temple is Rokuonji. It is located in the Kita ward, in the Kinugasa area of Kyoto. It was built as a resort house for the third shogun, Ashikaga Yoshimitsu, in 1397. The "Sansorokaku" pavilion, which is the reliquary hall worshipping Buddha, is covered in gold leaf. Visitors will be fascinated by the sight of the golden structure shining across the lake.
