Serve excellent curries ranging beyond the standard fayre. Alternatively why not try their delivery service? If you’re looking for a more traditional take on the English curry-house then Sanghams over the road also gets good reviews but in our view is just pipped by Maazi

Also on the outskirts of the village on the Sheffield side. Similar in atmosphere to The Scotsman’s with typically more visitors than locals it. Offers basic pub food; okay but not outstanding. That said though, the Sunday carvery (lunchtime only) is excellent value and very good.

Entertainment & Activities
The open-air heated swimming pool, just a 200 metre walk from Ash Dene, is the jewel in the village’s crown. Go down Roslyn Road (adjacent to side entrance to the house) and there are steps up to the bowling green then down to the pool. Open from April till October and typically warmed to balmy 26 degrees the pool has covered seating, a grass area for picnics / sun worshiping. There are poolside and indoor warm showers and plenty of changing cubicles. Sessions are timed and certain slots are reserved for season ticket holders so best to check out the timetable on the web site. Lockers are available.
