There are lots of "fruteries" in the neighborhood, but this is probably my favorite and one of the closest. Great for fresh fruit, croissants, french bread, coffee and other essentials.

There is an art gallery in the basement with free, rotating exhibitions. There are a couple of cafes in the complex as well.

Bar Renard is the one bar on Saint Catherine, the heart of the Gay Village, that is decidedly contemporary and "hip." If you want a tacky gay bar, this is not it.
