One of the oldest Italian delis in LA, this place is often frequented by local police and firemen. Any of their sandwiches are delicious, but I'm partial to the eggplant parm.

Let's talk about tacos: this town has a bazillion places, and I have to put the mighty taco truck above any brick-and-mortar, but this place has a great selection for a slightly higher price than what you find on the street. Beware the super spicy taco!

It's a tiny bit of an uphill hike, but well-worth it. At the top you are rewarded with a view of the downtown skyline to the south, dodger stadium to the north, and (if you're lucky) a few local roaming peacocks! Best to go around sunset.
