Arts & Culture
If you can only do one museum in NYC, it has to be the "Met". Must sees are the European Art (Old Masters, Renaissance and Impressionist especially Monet's Water lilies), Greek and Roman Sculpture, the Egyptian Wing/Temple of Dendur and the American Wing especially the Singer Sargent paintings. Admission is suggested. Pay what you wish but please support the arts and our beautiful museum.

Sightseeing
This is our favorite observation deck in the city because it gives you the best view of both the Empire State Building and Central Park including views all the way downtown and all the way to Yankee Stadium on a clear day. Also, there is rarely a line or crowded. Go early or late afternoon for the best light for photographs.

Iconic neighborhood south of 14th St. & north of Houston (pronounced House-ton) St. known simply as "The Village" to New Yorkers. Start at Bleecker St. & LaGuardia Place walking along Bleecker checking out the famous bars & live music venues (e.g. Peculiar Pub, Bitter End) to the MacDougal St. intersection which is the hub of the Village. Wander up north on MacDougal past the renowned Cafe Wha & Minetta Tavern turning onto Minetta Lane then head down Carmine St. to Joe's Pizza for some of the best sliced pizza in NYC. Then continue west on Bleecker turning north on 7th Ave to Christopher St. and the Stonewall National Monument just outside the Stonewall Inn where the LGBT movement began.

Our favorite neighborhood (outside of Harlem!) in NYC. The quaint side-streets and intimate restaurants and bars are a wonderful respite from the hustle and bustle of NYC. The W. Village is separated from the Central Village by West 4th St. Visit the original Magnolia Bakery on Bleecker, the Friends building at 90 Bedford St. or 66 Perry St. (Carrie Bradshaw's building on Sex and the City.) Little Owl is a fabulous teeny tiny restaurant. Spotted Pig is a wonderful gastropub. Buvette is a wonderful bistro and wine bar. Employees Only and Little Branch are fabulous speak-easy type cocktail bars. Feel free to wander & discover your own favorites!
