Drinks & Nightlife
This is such a cool hangout, both for locals and tourists alike. We frequent this place weekly for their happy hour drink and food specials. The fried oysters and hot wings (they are huge!) are two of our favorite snacks. This is a bar but you can also bring the family, as they serve food and it is a family friendly atmosphere.

Locally brewed beer, what more could you want? The Hooter Brown is my personal favorite. Cash only, so just be prepared. (The Oyster City Brewing Company beers are served at most of the local restaurants, too. So if you don't get a chance to stop by the brewery itself you can always order one of their beers while you eat dinner elsewhere.)

We love to hit up this place when looking for the perfect gift or even a gift for ourselves! They have a great selection of funky chic clothes and jewelry.

Reel Memories has a crazy collection of eclectic finds. But the real gems are the owner and her mom (who is almost always guaranteed to be there, too). They are a real hoot! They will keep you entertained with stories up the deep south, of course told with a strong southern accent. While you're there you can pick up rare treasures, used books, fishing rods, and unique jewelry. The inventory is constantly changing, so be sure to stop by every time you're in town.

The Owl Café never disappoints. The food is always fresh and always delicious. Try one of their homemade salad dressings. The French Poppyseed dressing is my personal favorite.

Tamara's brings you Floridian fare with a Venezuelan twist. The sweet plantains are a must-have. My go-to dish is the fried pork loin topped with chipotle sauce served over rice and black beans. It, of course, also comes with those irresistible sweet plantains.

This is a great date-night spot! (Over 21 only) The food is delicious and exciting. It's a bit pricey for the main course but the small plates are plenty if you have an appetite like mine.

Best raw oysters in town, hands-down. It is truly a "hole in the wall" but they serve up super yummy, fresh seafood.

This lighthouse was moved in somewhat recent history to it's location in the heart of St George Island. There is a small fee to go up the lighthouse. It's not super exciting but if you've never been inside a lighthouse you might find it interesting. And the views of the coast can't be beat.

Essentials
The IGA is on the outskirts of town but for me, it's worth the extra (5 minute) drive. The closer-to-downtown Piggly Wiggly does, admittedly, have the better selection. But the cleanliness of the IGA is a bit better, in my opinion.

If you're in town for one of the live shows at the Dixie you are guaranteed a one-of-a-kind experience. The local actors aren't necessarily top-notch but they give it their all and they do a great job. For us locals it's especially entertaining to see our local insurance agents, baristas, and other business professionals up there acting it all out.
