Food Scene
This is where Goshen hangs out, winter or summer. You'll see our creative entrepreneurial class working hard on laptops, college students, business meetings, or people just having fun on a date. Lots of seating, but often pretty full!

Very short walk to this iconic restaurant featured on TV's Diners n Dives. Get the spiral fries. Get pie. Get a reuben or a chef salad or try something different: turtle soup. Great for ice cream. Yummy burgers. Proprietors are from Philly, so you can trust the Philly Steak Sandwich too.

Pretzels. You want 'em? Goshen's got 'em. Jojo's has a gluten-free pretzel and a bunch of different mustard options. The original restaurant in Shipshewana is in the heart of Amish country, and you won't do well enough to expand from there if you don't have a great pretzel. Which like I always say, they do.

Because Goshenites line up to wait a half-hour here on summer weekends. It's seasonal, but super creamy and beloved by all locals. No indoor seating, just old-school windows with magic inside them.

Not just pizza, its wood-fired and certified Neapolitan or whatever. Because I'm gluten free we never have gone, but all our friends say it's amazing. You might want to look it up.

Parks & Nature
Want to go out for a walk, jog, run or bike? We're just a few blocks from the Millrace trail which runs from the farmer's market in downtown Goshen all the way down to the dam, near Goshen College. It's pretty and quiet. Not hilly. There are several routes you can take, so you can get a long walk or a short one in, and arrive right back at our place.

Arts & Culture
Curious about the Amish and Mennonites? Time to head to Shipshewana. We're listing the historical museum, but once you get to "Shipshe" as the locals call it, you'll find enough to spend a whole Saturday.

Shopping
Out of the way, lots of shops and restaurants, including the Trolley Inn and Rolling Scones. If you were looking for a coffee shop and the Electric Brew felt too busy, head to Rolling Scones for a quiet conversation. Their service is great, and there's always something to look at in this historic factory.

The Historic Theater shows a free movie on many Friday nights. It's never first-run. Recent showings include Jaws, Back to the Future, Titanic, Forrest Gump, Raiders of the Lost Ark, etc. Watch a movie in a big, old theater the way it was meant to be seen... free except for the popcorn and sodas.
