Fabulous ice-cream and lovely coffee. Old-fashioned type sweet shop too. You can tell it's good - queues are often way out the door and down the street!

Lovely cake, good vegan offerings if I remember correctly and I’m pretty sure I do. Gorgeous coffee. Believe the owner is French. Lovely upstairs seating area and a tiny balcony.

Delicious food in a beautiful setting in the harbour area of Stonehaven. Also lovely pub but it won’t let me add two categories!

Good food, drinks, has a play area inside for little ones and one outside for slightly older ones. Access to main road through Stonehaven one side and the beach area the other side so pretty handy for families. Seating outside- watch out for thieving seagulls especially in the nesting period, they take no prisoners and are about 12” high being Herring Gulls!!

Not in Stonehaven, you’ll need to take a bus down the coast or drive but St Cyrus Nature Reserve is great and the beach is beautiful with white sand. St Cyrus is about 18 miles South of Stonehaven so not too far. This is, in fact, the village I now live in. If you do come and need food, try the Old Bakery Coffee Shop or the Village Inn, and if they’re shut, the McColl’s shop is open long hours!

One of the most spectacular birdwatching sites in Britain 4 miles South of Stonehaven. See Puffins, Fulmars, Guillemots, Kittiwakes, and Razorbills. The cliffs also make a great lookout post for Grey Seals, Dolphins, and Minke Whales.

Near Fowlsheugh is the ‘ghost’ village of Crawton - a former fishing community deserted almost 190 years ago.
The ruins of 23 houses and a school are all that survive of the clifftop hamlet. It’s been deserted since 1927. It’s stunning with sea caves and waterfalls.
