Food Scene
Typical Brunswick. Hipster, but always reliably great food and service, and they even roast their own coffee on-site.
During the week, it's also a popular spot for people to be working remotely.

This is a vegan feminist café. It is peak hipster - being vegan means you can't get a latte - they serve alternatives like almond, macadamia, coconut milk etc.
The food is very Instagram worthy, but not amazing to eat - unless you're vegan perhaps!

This used to be a nut shop, and now it's re-imagined as a café run by the same owner as Moroccan Soup Bar in Fitzroy.
Interesting brunch options to choose from and try the $15 lunch plate. It's all vegetarian and they cater well to dietary requirements.

Drinks & Nightlife
Check out what's playing. This place is literally very cool because it is a converted warehouse and has an overhead misting system, i.e. water is sprayed in the air and evaporates, to cool the air. It's full of plants.
Here's a review from zomato:
Nothing gets me going like a converted warehouse. I came here for a going away drinks and was loving the greenhouse vibes. Kinda hipster (it is Brunswick after all) it was buzzing with atmosphere and we managed to snare a sneaky little corner with some comfy seating for our group. Food wise they do burgers, sausages and all types of potato as well as a couple of sharing options. Plenty to keep you going as you sip away. Great Sunday session spot

The internet says:
Named after the founder of Brunswick,Mr Wilkinson Brunswick East is one of the stalwarts of drinking options in this part of town, having opened back in 2008. Despite the ever changing and expanding food and drink scene in this part of town, Mr Wilkinson (or “Mr W” as locals call it) can still hold its own as one of the best options in the area for a drink.

Relaxed and sophisticated. The internet (www.thecitylane.com) says
Ever wanted to drink in a stranger’s lounge room? Perhaps not, but the The Alderman in Brunswick East comes pretty close to replicating that feeling...
The front bar feels like an old fashioned bar, with a small wooden bar and a few seats, head through the door and you reach the section that feels like a lounge room, complete with fireplace and creaky staircase. Keep heading along the narrow space and you reach the outdoor courtyard...
