Not a museum, the home of Renoir up until his death. You can see his room and tools and explore the gardens. It is little visited which is why I like it so much. The large gardens are great for a picnic in the olive trees that Renoir used to paint. No, you will not see many actual works (Only 14 paintings) but you get a sense of what it was like in the early 20th century. And the actual trees and rooms he painted are still there.

If your tempted to visit Italy, San Remo is not a bad destination. The food is incredible on the Italian side. The drive is fantastic. Have pizza and a coffee or take in a market and wind your way home.

Ideal hot weather destination. A visit to the caves is perfect in summer. Well organised guided tour underground. There is also a nature walk outside. Combine with the nearby village of St. Cezaire for a feel of more rural Provence. Tuesday is market day.
