The bats are going to be coming out just after sunset. The best time of year is spring and early summer but they normally come out any evening when the temperature is above 65. High winds, rain, or cold will keep them in the house (where you would prefer to be anyway). https://www.flmnh.ufl.edu/index.php/bats/home/

You can spend the day swimming, snorkeling, and tubing down this amazing river. The water is crystal clear and a constant 72 degrees.
Bring your own float or rent one at one of the many roadside vendors. Get there early in the summer or you may not be able to get in.

Good for picnics, hiking, swimming, and scuba. There are many hiking trails through the woods or you can follow the long boardwalk through the cypress swamp out to the Suwannee River.
Once the river starts to cool off in the winter you are likely to find one or more manatees up in the spring run. Swimming is not allowed when manatees are present.
