Across the street from the Museum are some Native American burial mounds. The largest one overlooks the river and was also used in the Civil War during the Battle Of Memphis. This spot is absolutely amazing and I think one of the best places to see in Memphis.

Arts & Culture
You'll see what an incredible microcosm existed here and how it influenced music in ways you probably never knew. This is a must see. Doesn't take too long to get through and it's worth going to see Isaac Hayes' car alone.
You can do this and the Metal Museum in an afternoon.

This is as obvious as Graceland or Beale Street which are not on my list because you already know they are here. I can't leave NCRM off the list. It's reason enough to visit Memphis.

Go see the Grizzlies. The team that plays their hearts out and continually get NO RESPECT from ESPN or any other national mouth piece. Its fun. Especially if they play the Lakers and 1/2 the local crowd is supporting them instead, wearing Lakers jerseys.
