Great food menu but an absolutely wicked selection of cocktails, with five of their favourites half-price Sunday to Wednesday!
Cut through St Mark's Park and then Warriston Road to get there quick or take the scenic route past the Botanics East Gate along Goldenacre.

Even if you're not into flowers, this place is an abundant oasis of the natural world.
Free, so always worth taking a peek. Glasshouses are extra but absolutely worth it.

This leads you to St Marks Park - fairly basic in layout and facilities but on a hill stunning views to the south. Access to the cycle path network, a good-sized children's playground, football pitch used by the local team, a couple of green expanses perfect for picnics, a protected woodland and weir forming part of the Water of Leith Walkway.

Food Scene
Just across the road, this is a great little takeaway offering vegan and gluten-free options. No deep-fried Mars bars here, I'm afraid, but there's a good and uncomplicated range of burgers, pizzas and sides - I recommend the sweet potato fries!

If heading directly from there to our flat, take the Calton Road exit (follow the signs!). It's less grand an egress than surfacing at Princes St BUT it saves having to cross roads and negotiate crowds. It'll shave a couple of minutes off your journey time - useful the other way and you've a train to catch!
