The "bad-boy uncle basement bar" aesthetic.
A deluxe new neighborhood dive bar with something for everyone.
A well-curated jukebox covers all your hits from 1975-85. And in a back corner peeking out from behind the horseshoe bar, there's shuffleboard, pinball
In the back patio, the original Endless Summer Taco Truck has been carved up and transformed into a small grill, where a stomach-girding menu of sliders and bratwurst and fries are served.

The vibe is vaguely Victorian, complete with ottomans, throw pillows and antique-looking tchotchkes. Well-priced, simple cocktails—like a citrusy orange-blossom lemonade with rum—feature herbs and house-infused spirits.
While the ground-floor bar also stocks beers (including Sixpoint and Kronenbourg) and organic French wines, the real draw is upstairs—scale the steps in the back to find a roof deck with a frozen-margarita station.

This down-home-stylish bar was formerly a local luncheonette for the neighborhood’s Italian old timers — as well as a one-time, well, candy store. It’s transitioned to a bar and performance space, and the owner is a set designer, so the back room has cleverly been made to look like a train car. The main attraction, though, is the stage — which accommodates the full range of Billyburg’s sonic underground, from rockabilly to ska. Chinese newspapers laminated on the table-tops give the place a kitschy feel, but the bar staff take their job seriously, expertly executing martinis and Manhattans for the nightly throngs of neighborhood hotties who soak it up with the only food on the menu: a grilled-cheese sandwich.

French inspired, Brooklyn Neighborhood Bistro. We serve our own twist on classic Bistro fare.
People mob it for its atmosphere: part French bistro, part well-kept jungle. You’ll want to be eating on the roof if it’s warm, but the plant room (actually covered in vegetation) is a very good second-best if it’s not.

The rustic warmth of Rabbithole's dining room (rough-hewn tables, brick walls mounted with antlers, a tailor's dummy and other eclectica) is matched by its kitchen (they cook their own pastries) and by the relaxed, attentive staff. Breakfast (to 5pm) is loved locally – the coffee's good and you can linger over eggs, fruit or granola in the rear garden.
