Sightseeing
The Wakefield Bridge, correctly called the Gendron Bridge, is not only a beautiful sight but also has a long history to it. Over many years, it served to connect the village of Wakefield to Edelweiss, but the current bridge is a replica of the original Gendron Bridge, which was burned down by unknown perpetrators but was rebuilt by our community, using traditional building techniques. It is now a footbridge and allows both pedestrians and cyclists to cross over the Gatineau River. It holds treasured memories for brides and grooms, for concert goers and for those who have dared to jump straight into the waters below. It is definitely worth a photograph from near and from far in all four seaso
