Great for a walk, run, or bike ride - lots of people exercise here or just stroll around to take in the views. Go downtown - not uptown - and if you run for ~10 minutes you'll hit a nice running track.

They have great / fancy mexican food here, but it's also a great bar if you just want to go for a drink. When you walk in, it looks like a casual taco place, but then when you walk downstairs you see it is really a nice restaurant...

I love going here for brunch. It's in Williamsburg, Brooklyn - so a ~30 minute trip in total (~10 minute walk to the L subway, ~10 minute subway ride, ~10 minute walk from the subway to the restaurant) but I think it's worth it. The restaurant is very cute / beautiful, they have outdoor seating, the prices are good, and the food is great. Highly recommend.

If you want to 'splurge' for a very nice brunch with good people watching / good atmosphere, you must go here. It's my favorite. The portions are all shareable, and the menu is very unique. It's a bit pricey, but if you want to treat yourself this is the place to do it. It's better / more affordable to go for brunch than dinner. Brunch is served Saturdays and Sundays.

Great Spanish tapas and sangria, with affordable prices! I love this place. It's relatively low-key as far as NYC goes, meaning you don't need to get super dressed up..

Drinks & Nightlife
This is a very famous hotel in Meatpacking ... they have a beer garden as well as other bars you can check out. The beer garden is good for day-time / early evening drinking, and then the night time has other bars you can go to that are fancier / more difficult to get into.

Go to the comedy cellar. It is a MUST for anyone visiting NYC. You really can't miss it. Buy tickets in advance online, and then be prepared to buy 2 drinks at the comedy club (they have a 2 drink minimum rule). It's very famous and you will see famous comedians there. They have a second location which is not as good as the original, so make sure you go to the original one (call and ask them if you need to..).. don't miss it..
