Entertainment & Activities

Crown Mountain Park is a gem. It boasts a small bmx track best for kiddos as well as a playground, b-ball and tennis courts. There is a 1 mile track that circles the playing fields all back-dropped by the beautiful mountains. The best kept secret are the trails near the back of the park that lead you through tall grasses and even down to the river. In the winter there are groomed cross country ski trails all open to the public.

Follow Kelli Court all the way up to the trailhead for Arbaney Kittle hike. This is a Basalt favorite among locals for it's workout and grand vistas.

The place for a quick hike just outside of Carbondale. Turn into the parking area at the intersection of Hwy 133, 107 and 82. Walk a quarter of a mile up the road until you see the trailhead for Red Hill and the popular Mushroom Rock hike. There's no better view of Carbondale and Mt Sopris anywhere in the valley. Mountain bikers are also welcome.
