Pioneras is currently the best brew house in Chiloé. The craft beer selection is great and it's all produced locally. A selection of imported bottled beers is also available. The food includes pizzas, burgers and other sandwiches, all with a touch of local ingredients. Caution - portions are huge! Excellent value for money.

Fort Tauco (or Fortín Tauco) was a battery built by the Spaniards around the 1770's. It was intended to guard the coastal entrance that leads to the gulf of Castro. It currently holds a wooden structure that gives you an idea of how the buildings could have been arranged, after being neglected for decades. Free of any charges; however, you will need a car to get there.
