Great New Mex-Mexican food and margaritas. Enjoy the outside patio just a couple of blocks from Casey's. One of our favorite places to dine.

Fun activities in walking distance

Our favorite things to do around Casey's Cabins
Wingfield Park is Ruidoso's main park, just blocks away. Enjoy the playground, beautiful pavilion, walking paths, botanical garden and fairy hunt. There are public restrooms onsite. This is the location of the Village's many festivals, including Ice Skating in the Park in the winter, Aspen Fest in October, farmers markets in the summer, and a haunted tour for Halloween. One of our favorite places to visit!

It's a block away, winds through town, and all the woodland creatures can be spotted here if you stay long enough. In dry weather it's a stream; in heavy rains it can flood and destroy. Take time to explore the lifeblood of the Village.

Fun activities a drive away

Not EVERYTHING is in walking distance of Casey's. Here's what we like to do when we (rarely) use our car in town.
Sledding! Open in both winter and summer (for dry tubing), Ruidoso Winter Park is a great stop if there are kids (or kids at heart) traveling with you. It's about a fifteen-minute drive away.

Only a five-minute drive away, this publicly owned reservoir lake is perfect for hiking, swimming and fishing. In the summer, this is where the Wibit is located (a blow-up obstacle course that floats on the lake).

Not just a casino--Inn of the Mountain Gods has our favorite reservoir lake in town. Fishing permits and paddle boats rentals are available, but expect to pay significantly higher prices than at Grindstone Lake. Just a ten minute drive away.

Everyone knows that Ski Apache is the place to be when it snows, but did you know that it's also open in the summer? YES! Scenic gondolas, one of the longest zip lines in North America with spectacular views of the forest, and sick mountain bike trails make this worth the visit. We *might* even prefer Ski Apache in the summer, it's hard to decide. About a 45-minute long, curvy drive away . Don't try this drive in snowy icy or snowy weather.
