We go here all the time because it’s one of the few places that does cheap vegan takeaway. The falafel makes life worth living. You’ll find it on the high street, towards the station.

We’ve been going to this vegan café for years. It’s right next to Kentish Town West and a five-minute walk away. The coffee and food are good, and the staff are very friendly. They also have wine evenings if that’s your thing, although we’ve never been. They also sell and grind beans. Along with Map below, it’s our favourite local spot.

Kentish Town has some excellent pubs. but this one is probably our favourite. Go during the day for a quieter vibe and watch out for Nelson, the resident cat. It has a decent beer garden for when the weather’s hot.

Hampstead Heath is about a twenty minute walk away. If you like wild swimming, the ladies pond is wonderful (and has hot showers). Otherwise it's a great place for a long walk or just somewhere quiet to relax.

You can see Map from the window, and it’s our go- to place on a Sunday evening. It’s a café during the day and a (very small) music venue in the evening, where young musicians cut their teeth. The vibe is great - it’s charismatically shambolic and it has a little terrace upstairs.
