The nearest proper mountain when you hit Snowdonia and no need to go any further - only 40 mins drive and a spectacular walk up through oak woods alongside numerous waterfalls, then opening out to a lake with the most stunningly clear water for a swim and two peaks looming over you if you'd like to walk further for the views and sense of achievment. Don't forget it's a long way back down!

Dolphins regularly seen here - you can take a dolphin boat trip but it's easy to see them from the harbour. Just 45 mins drive away so easy to combine with something else for a day trip.

Our nearest beach, where the Clarach River meets the sea, giving kis the option to play in fresh water or sea water and see how the two have reshaped the beach each day. Good wood-fired pizza and fish and chips available for an easy dinner with sea views and amusements for children

City/town information
Two beaches and a good variety of chain and independent shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants. Unusually high student population for a small town gives it an eclectic character.
