This place is now called The Stage Bar & Grill. Excellent bar food (they have fried okra!) and cheap stiff drinks. Pool table and decent jukebox...if you're into that. Or just a chill place to grab an early dinner.

Upsides: Microbrewery with fresh and seasonal beers on tap, full bar, and full restaurant. Nice outdoor patio and pool tables in the Lager Room. Lots of other bars around Laclede's Landing, conveniently clustered for your drinking delights.
Downsides: Parking at Laclede's Landing can be frustrating, and there's lots of cobblestone. Not always the best area for wearing heels or expensive shoes--especially after a few drinks.

Bars in St. Louis, MO close at 3am. That should be plenty of time to get plastered...right? Trust us, nothing good happens on the East Side, especially not after 3am. We don't recommend crossing the river into Illinois. But if you absolutely insist on continuing to drink until the sun comes up, this would be the place to do it. Drinks are overpriced and low-quality, and it's rare to meet a person of high moral fiber here. Pop's: it's where dreams and dignity go to die.

If you feel you must try St. Louis style pizza, this would be the place. They're the only delivery service in this neighborhood. However, there are much better St. Louis style pizza places throughout the city.

Biscuits and gravy are quite good. Expect to wait for a seat, especially if your entire party is not yet present. Only open 6am-2pm. Definitely NOT your go-to spot for dinner or ending a night on the town. But worth the wait to hit this place up the next morning.

A stand-out example of urban decay and failed municipal policy, abounding in beautiful historic structures (once the family homes of middle-class citizens of all races) falling into decline under the City's ownership.
