Sightseeing
Visited by thousands of pilgrims who travelled from all corners of the country for centuries to visit this vast cathedral that took decades to build. It was burned to the ground during the reformation, but the ruins still give a sense of its enormous scale, standing perched on the cliffs looking east to the North Sea. It would have been an impressive site from Kinkell from where you can still see some of the old standing towers and spires.

We would recommend a cocktail in the 4th floor bar for some of the best views in town, across the Old Course and West Sands to the North Sea. The rest of the hotel's offering is overpriced but this priceless view for a couple of cocktails is worth it!

Within walking distance of the cabins and with great views of the ancient parts of St Andrews and the North Sea. A great spot for an evening meal or drink as the sun sets behind St Andrews. The Castle Course Clubhouse is situated roughly on the spot where Kinkell Castle once stood and stones from the castle are thought to have been used in the construction of Kinkell Byre.

Our favourite beach
Fantastic wee beach next to St Andrews Harbour and the first place you come to when walking into St Andrews from Kinkell along the coastal path. Has a playground, sailing club, life guard and the very popular cheese toasty shack.
