Food scene
This is one of the best restaurants. Its indoor seating is rustic, modern, and clean with great lighting and ambiance. They have a large garden terrace for eating outside. Out in the country, this restaurant is set on a high point in the middle of fields and woods. The view is beautiful and peaceful. The wait staff are well-trained. The food is excellent, with an emphasis on local produce. The bar is truly well-stocked and a delightful addition to the entire experience. It's our favorite place to go, so don't miss it if you are looking for a little upscale but still affordable option, in a great setting. Its a little distance to travel, but well worth it.

This is a climber's mecca and a very fun, upbeat vibe. Lots of indoor and outdoor seating, this place is famous for its wood-fired pizza, rice bowls, breakfast and healthy vegan options too. Don't miss this in the heart of the gorge. Get ready for lots of people, climbers, campers, locals and tourists, Miguels has it all.

An upscale restaurant and bar, with excellent food and ambiance, this is a treat to visit. While its a little more pricy than some other options, it is a fabulous date night.

Our closest Amish store is a great destination for deli sandwiches that are incredible, home baked goods, home-made chocolates, candies, and a host of other great groceries. There are a limited number of small tables outside only. In the summer they have lovely hanging baskets and plants for sale, in the autumn, head here for the best selection of pumpkins ever!

I love this coffee shop! Sit indoors or outdoors, this very hip spot is an absolutely perfect rest point after visiting Creation Falls or hiking in the area. It's right next to Sky Bridge Station, if you want more substantial refreshment!

Head here for craft beers served in local hand-thrown mugs. Nachos and hamburgers and a few other items make up its fairly typical bar food menu. This is absolutely family and pet friendly, with outdoor picnic tables. They frequently host live music and a weekly quiz night. This is a fun place to go.

Sightseeing
This is a must see while you are here. Pets are not allowed on the trail just FYI. This hike is broad and fairly easy, well maintained, and highly travelled! The view is so amazing, the natural stone arch, awe-inspiring. Just a note, there are no fences or guard rails at all on top of the arch, which is scary with young kids.

Want to picnic, hike flat roads or swim in crystal clear pools? Indian creek is such a beautiful area. You can find huge rocks and jump off into the creek, our family's personal favorite thing to do in the summer. This water is ultra pure, as opposed to the Red river itself, which is not that clean, unfortunately. Great place for biking, jogging and fishing too!

This is a great information center, with pretty picnic grounds, a river and excellent educational resources for a rain day in the gorge. Bring your kids here to learn all about Native American ways of life before the settlers came to the Red River Gorge Area.

This stone tunnel is so worth seeing. Of course, if you are staying at Snowy Owl, you'll drive through it to get there! If you are at Larkspur, its worth the drive down to Slade. It is only a single lane, so get ready to back up multiple times if there is oncoming traffic to wait your turn to go through.

I believe the chair lift that takes you right up to the Natural Bridge costs around $20 per person. For those who can't make the hike, I have heard this is really a great option. My 80 year old in-laws loved it! I'm guessing folks of all ages would enjoy it, but I haven't tried it myself yet.

I did this years ago here, and had a blast. A series of small zip lines graduate to a mother of all zip lines across a huge valley. That was so scary, but fun!
