Sightseeing
If you are interested in ecology and sustainability, Økosamfundet Dyssekilde is a must. From April to October there are regular tours.
http://www.dyssekilde.dk/
Both the plants and the cultural life sprout in the organic village at Dyssekilde. Visit it and be inspired.
In the village of Dyssekilde between Hundested and Frederiksværk, 120 children and adults live in a small ecological community. In 1990, here was just a potato field. Today, the village is a vibrant community with 120 adults and 60 children aged 0-92 years. They have, among other things, a wind turbine, willow plant for wastewater treatment, geothermal heating plant, kitchen gardens and much more.
The eco-society is populated with men, women and children who try to live a life of community, tolerance and respect, and with a focus on sustainability and ecology. You can visit the village for a tour and get an insight into the green solutions they have applied to, among other things, the common house, wastewater treatment, waste sorting and vegetable cultivation.
A cultural greenhouse
The village is home to many artists and creative souls, and it is a dynamo for the culture of the area. Here are, for example, the organic restaurant Kæft, Torup Bogby, Nordisk Forfattertræf, Himmelstorm Festival just to name a few of the initiatives that have grown out of the organic soil at Dyssekilde.

"Æblestien" hike to the beach
The "apple" hiking path begins at the end of Æblevej, close to the church in Melby (there is free parking at the church). The path leads about 1½ kilometer through spruce plantations, past horse paddocks with cute ponies and beautiful ditch edges that impress with a colorful bloom of poppies and cornflowers in the summer months.
The path ends at a peaceful and child-friendly sandy beach - it is mostly the locals who find their way to the beach, which is located approximately halfway between the popular Liseleje Beach and Hyllingebjerg Beach.
If you live a little further away, you can take the train to Melby Station and find the path from there - take the bikes or go for a walk and get an ideal start to the beach trip.
