Manini'owali Beach at Kua Bay is a beautiful white sand beach with crystal blue waters. Since the building of a paved road it's become much easier to access, although some areas of the beach still require a hike over black lava rock to reach. There is parking, public restrooms, showers, 2 picnic tables and lifeguard.

Park at the grass field behind the Kona Pool, walk across field to the left back corner to find the path that takes you down to cross the road of a private subdivision and then leads to the beach. No bathrooms, no showers and no shade.

Popular with families, this beach is great for children because of its protected lagoon making for calm and serene water conditions. The shallow, sandy ocean bottom is ideal for small children learning to swim, snorkel and for novice swimmers. Access to Kikaua Point Beach Park is through the Kukio Golf Resort. As you enter the resort, the guard at the security gate will provide you with a visitor pass and direct you to the parking lot if there is space. Parking is limited, so we suggest arriving early in the morning around 9:00 am at the latest. There is a short walk along a paved trail between the parking lot and Kikaua beach. The trail is baby stroller and wheelchair accessible, Kikaua Point Beach Park is one of the easier beaches to get to on the Big Island. At the end of the trail, you will find restrooms, showers, and drinking water.
