Parks & Nature
If you prefer walking then this is a great location because of its proximity to the park which is only literally a two minute walk away. You can get to the park by passing through the ginnel (passage). The park has facilities for bowling, tennis courts and if you walk down to the bottom of the park it leads you onto Gledhow Woods where you can take a fairly substantial walk through very pleasant surroundings.

You can't beat fish and chips for a cheap and delicious meal. Nash's fish and chips are not greasy, and if you are not from Yorkshire then you can't stay here without trying some mushy peas with your fish 'n' chips.

For those who prefer to do more exciting things than washing and drying their clothes there is a launderette in Chapel Allerton called the Laundry Room. It is about a 10 minute walk to get to or five minutes by car and open most days until 7 PM. You don't have to watch your own washing spin round as the staff there will keep an eye on it for you and you can pick it up later on. The last time I looked it was £2.80 for a normal wash, £4.80 for a large one, and lots of dryers. There's also a dry cleaning and service wash service.

Essentials
The nearest local corner shop is a Londis which is less than a five-minute walk from the house (if you walk through the ginnel which is at the end of the cul-de-sac next to the large stone house). This is very convenient if you need to buy a pint of milk, a loaf of bread or some other essential item such as a bottle of beer. It seems to be open most times of the day.
