A 20-minute drive along the Lakeshore Road. One of the longest freshwater beaches in Ontario, Ipperwash Beach has 3 main access points just off West Ipperwash Road, Ipperwash Road, and Army Camp Road. In addition, there are a number of Crown-owned properties operated by the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry that offer beach access, parking, and seasonal washrooms. Web: https://www.lambtonshores.ca/en/explore-and-play/ipperwash-beach.aspx West Ipperwash Road has the Ipperwash Beach Club, recommended for lunch or dinner and an Ice Cream Shop, near the waterfront. Prior to Covid they offered Kids movies on a big screen on Thursdays next to the ice cream shop.

Must go!

About 30 min along the Lakeshore Road Grand Bend has earned a reputation as one of Canada’s best beach towns. Grand Bend is a great spot for fancy restaurants, best ice-cream places, rentals, souvenir shops and other touristy attractions. Highly recommended: The Pinery Antique Shop, Grand Bend Flee Market, Grand Bend drive in movie theatre).

About 30 min along the Lakeshore Road Pinery is a must-do day trip! Make sure we come early to find a parking spot and have enough time to do a little bit of everything: cycling or hiking on its beautiful trails (bikes are available for rent if you don’t bring yours), pedal along the serene channel watching fishes and turtles, and several hours of fun on its beautiful beaches. (We also must grab an ice cream in the park’s famous ice-cream shop. Have kids – no choice!) In winter, we come for cross-country skiing (again, if we left out skis behind, we can rent). Although these are our favorites, exploration does not stop here.

London is a Canadian city in southwestern Ontario, just north of Lake Erie and the U.S. border. It's home to the University of Western Ontario. Among the city's range of museums are Museum London, a showcase for regional art and historical artefacts, and the interactive Children's Museum. If you like bulk shopping, they have 2 Costco locations. We recommend the Museum of Ontario Archaeology and London Children’s Museum.
