Bring small first aid kit
It's not a bad idea to travel with a small first aid kit. While Port Renfrew houses many dedicated first responders, the nearest hospital is over an hour a way.

Warning signals - Tsunami's and 911
Every Tuesday at 6PM you will hear a loud horn/siren for approximately 1 minute. This is practice night for local first responders as this is their call to the fire hall in case of emergency.
The same horn will sound in case of Tsunami warning, but the signal will not stop. You will need to make your way to higher ground if this happens.
