The botanical garden has a super nice cafe in the centre. It's really small inside, so come on a sunny day and sit outside in the beautiful backyard. The best time to be there is around 10, before the big crowds show up.

This is a small but cosy café at a historical place next to the river (Akerselva). Its perfect to walk along the river from the apartment and end up here. Its very tiny so it is best to visit on a sunny day.

Take the boat to one of the islands in the Oslo Fjord! You can buy a cheap ticket with the Ruter app and jump on a boat from Aker Brygge. You can take it as a boat trip or bring some food and hopp off at one of the island for a picnic.

This is a fairly new neighbourhood in Oslo. The highway used to run along the fjord and the area was inaccessible to Oslo's habitants. But now it has turned into a flourishing neighbourhood with plenty of dining places, The opera, Munch Museum and main library. I love to come down to Munch Brygge (the plaza next to the museum) to grab a coffee and a doughnut and relax in the sun, take a swim or people watch.

Kampen is a very cute neighbourhood with lots os old and small houses, and narrow streets. Check out the popular café Farine while you are there.
