Wildlife Walks
Fantastic location for walking, cycling, bird watching, watersports or just sitting and enjoying being beside water. There are a range of different walks including an 8 mile loop of the reservoir that takes in the delightful villages of Carsington and Hopton. It also has a 30 minute circular walk which is perfect for buggies and wheel chairs, and which has plenty of benches if you want to sit awhile. The wildlife centre is excellent and doubles as a bird watching area - perfect for winter if you like to be warm! There is a cafe and a restaurant, both of which have outdoor eating areas with views over the reservoir. There are also lots of picnic benches. Toilets were plentiful and very clean. Parking is £5 for the day which we felt was very reasonable given the range of activities on offer.
