A great wine and beer bar with small plates that combines the best of Rocky Neck art culture with food and wine. Stop by for a drink after, or before, strolling Rocky Neck.

J.T. Farnham's
88 Eastern AveA classic "clam shack" on the way to or from Essex!
A place for take-out or a quick bite. Classic "diner" vibe, order at the counter, a very large menu. Their club sandwiches are really good...might sound strange but their hamburger club is amazing...easily two meals worth of food. And obviously their roast beef.

Essex is a cute town located "off island" about 10-15 mins from the airbnb. Once you are there in the "downtown" strip it's all walkable. Most known for its seafood and antique shops.

One of America's oldest art colonies, Rocky Neck is a special place to take a stroll, check out a few shops/galleries, get a glass of wine or beer at the Salted Cod, and just wander the side streets.
Note, in the off season it can be a bit sleepy, so don't expect too much action then. Easiest to park in the large public parking lot as soon as you enter Rock Neck.
Also, walk to Ocean Alliance, they inhabit the very cool old Paint Factory Building and their property is open for people to walk through. Nice views of the harbor.

This whole area along Western Ave, called the Boulevard, is a great place to walk and see the harbor. The path winds its way into Stage Fort Park - find the hidden staircase that goes to the top of gigantic boulder with the massive iron plaque - great views.

I'd recommend taking an hour (or a few) to stroll Main Street. There's many shops worth exploring, plus restaurants and coffee shops.

Shopping
So, on the roadside of this building is a very unassuming entrance to an amazing vintage/antique store that has a ton of cool men's wear and women's wear. I don't think it actually has a sign or name, but if there's an "open" flag out front it's open. Worth visiting. Owners Bob and Dave are worth chatting with - super friendly!
