Jackson is a good day trip at 77 miles by car. Traveling north of Pinedale you'll pass through the hamlet of Bondurant and then beautiful Hoback Canyon where the sinuous Hoback River flows until it reaches the confluence with the Snake River. There, you'll head into Jackson a vibrant town with numerous shops, restaurants and bars, art galleries and active night life.

Sightseeing

Fremont Lake is the jewel of this area. The lake is 12 miles long and about 1 1/2 miles wide with a middle depression of over 600 feet. It is Wyoming's 2nd largest natural lake and considered to be one of the cleanest in the country. Sandy Beach is located on the south end of the lake and great for a summer beach day. Lakeside Lodge is also on the south end of the lake where boat rentals and food are available.

Fremont Lake is the jewel of this area. The lake is 12 miles long and about 1 1/2 miles wide with a middle depression of over 600 feet. Beautiful Half Moon Lake is one of the area lakes about 10 miles from town. It sits above Fremont Lake. Boat rentals and food are available at Half Moon Lake Lodge.

The Granite Hot Springs Pool is located at the end of the Granite Creek Road, 1 hr 14 min (61.6 mi) via US-191 north of Pinedale. The Granite Hot Springs pool is open 10-8 in the summer (May 15th to October 31st) and 10-6 in the winter (early December to early April).
