The Denver Botanic Gardens is adjacent to Cheesman Park, which is only a mile away and very walkable. The Gardens boasts a tropical greenhouse, a Japanese inspired garden, a large bonsai collection, and all sorts of native plants. Highly recommend taking a walk through the gardens on a nice sunny day.

45 minutes away, this state park is a hidden gem. A short 2 mile loop takes you around some of the most dramatic red sandstone formations in the Front Range.

This is a must-do hike if you visit Boulder - there are numerous trails that take you up to the top of the dramatic flat-irons. It can get quite busy on the weekends, so arrive early or take the bus!

If you're willing to travel a little further (1h 15), Brainard Lake is an excellent place to find some solace in the mountains. It's a great place for a picnic and also a popular trailhead for lots of great trails into the Indian Peaks Wilderness Area.
