Fayetteville is known as the "Cradle of Czech immigration to Texas. By the 1880's the town consist of Germans and Czechs. Fayetteville was incorporated on March 2, 1882. Greystone Bungalow was built in the 1930's and is 2 blocks from the historic town square. Restaurants, bars, shops, and a museum all surround the courthouse pictured above. The courthouse built in 1853 has the original courtroom on the bottom floor and a jail and shackles on the second floor. Check to see if it's open during your stay. Next to the courthouse is a beautiful gazebo. On the weekends you'll hear live performers playing music and people getting married.
