Food scene

This is a wonderful little coffee shop and breakfast and lunch spot owned by local homesteader Dennis Alan. Go there on Friday night for live music and good food! Also the connected and amazing ice cream shop, featuring Amish ice cream and homemade sauces, is open on weekend evenings. Check out Dennis's City Boy Homesteader Podcast "A Cup of Joe with Joe" and you'll meet both Dennis and Joe (who watches over Elk Creek Cottage when we're not there!).

I love this restaurant that is a hot spot for local and traveling bands, a great brewery, and has a creative menu made with local produce and meat. Just down the hill from Elk Creek Cottage at the corner where the stoplight is.

This is a fantastic little winery that will make you feel like you're in Europe, sitting by a canal drinking wine or cocktails. Just down the hill from Elk Creek Cottage, straight through the stoplight and then immediately on your left. You can also buy nice Amish cheese or bags of salty snacks. Kids will love it too, because there are lots of duck families floating down the canal and resting on the bank.
