Adventure
Both the New River and the Gauley River are some of the most iconic rafting destinations in the country. From mild Class II and Class III sections that are family-friendly, to adventurous high-pace Class V, there’s something here for everyone. Rafting outfitters are open from approximately April to October, with the earlier months characterized by milder rapids, and the fall being prime adventure season on the rivers. The rafting here is epic enough to justify a visit to The New in and of itself, and if you are a climber or hiker looking for a rest day activity, look no further!
