The Neck is a very popular stop along the drive from the ferry to the property. Walk up the 276 stairs to enjoy 360 degree views from the Neck. The Neck is also an important habitat for Short-tailed Shearwaters and tiny penguins, and at dusk during the warmer months you can witness them returning to their burrows in the sand dunes.

Walks
The 12km return Cape Queen Elizabeth Trail is a great Bruny Island day walk. Walkers can expect brilliant views of The Neck and Adventure Bay as well as stunningly secluded beaches and unique rock formations. This is where you will find the popular rock archway many photograph whilst visiting Bruny. At low tide the trail leads around the coast below Mars Bluff, allowing for a shorter and more exciting route.

A beautiful walk starting in Adventure Bay takes you up a steep climb to the top of the Cape. The walk is a 4km loop with views out to the Tasman Peninsula from the top. A shorter, easier walk to Grass Point is also an option.

The Bruny Hotel
If you plan to have dinner at the Bruny Hotel we recommend booking a table, especially if its over the school holidays. The Bruny Hotel is the only mid-week nightly dinner option on the Island. It has great large portion sizes and is recommended. If you don't feel like eating in you can always get some takeaway and bring it back to your Hideaway to enjoy. The hotel is 15mins drive away.
