Sightseeing
What else is there to say...this is the most visited national park in the US by 2x. Part of the reason is that it is free and very accessible. There are many beatiful hikes and even just a scenic drive the park is worth it. I will call out Cade's Cove and Laurel Falls separately but there is so much more. Enjoy

A beautiful setting in the Smokies. You can drive the loop. It is a slow pace but there is much to see. Double check that the loop is open for cars. Some days (often Wednesdays) it is only open for bicycling and hiking.

This is the pool and fishing pond 5 minutes from Golden Oaks. The pool has a good snack bar and deli. it is open seasonally.
The fishing pond is open year round. It is catch and release and does not require a fishing license.

City/town information
PF has all of the action and activities. Restaurants, dinner shows, comedy acts, musicians, go carts, zip lines, shopping, Dollywood...you can't get board here. It will make you appreciate the calm and quiet of Golden Oaks when you get home.

Townsend is a small community west of the cabin that is close and has some nice options for food, drinks and outdoor activities.
Gatlinburg has plenty to see and do. There is a lot of shopping and dining on the main drag. It is also home to the main entrance to Smoky Mountain National Park (good news, you get to use the much closer and less crowded back entrance close to the cabin off Line Springs Road.
