We are about 40 mins from Windermere but there is much more to Cumbria....like the Roman Fort on Hardnott Pass.
We are about an hour from Hawes in Wensleydale, it's a lovely drive over the fells. A visit to the Wensleydale Creamery to stock up on delicious cheeses before going along to Aysgarth Falls, Bolton Castle, then over into Swaledale to Reeth village. Back over the Butter Tubs and it's been a wonderful day out.
