Marine Lake is just off the Rhyl Harbour, and has a miniature railway running around it. Take a bucket and fishing net for really surprising productive crab fishing!

Picturesque waterfall at the approach to Dyserth Village. Walk up the pathway to get to the top of the waterfall, with lovely view out over the coast. Ice cream shop and cafe. The New Inn across the road has a lovely restaurant.

Rhaeadr Dyserth Wasserfall

A long journey but worth it. Portmeirion is a fantasy, italiante village on the west coast of Wales, and you will travel through some lovely scenery to get there. I recommend everyone goes there on a SUNNY day, otherwise the 'ice cream colours' of the buildings will lose their impact. The 1960's TV show was made there, and has a cult following who have conventions there every year. Porthmadog isn't far away, either, and also worth the journey.

About 30 minutes by car. A fabulous Zoo, featured in the Secret Life of the Zoo TV series, a world class, ethical and forward thinking centre of excellence, focused on conservation of thousands of species.
Home of Boris, a chimpanzee who was found in a pet shop in Manhattan in the 60's, and who was eventually rehomed at Chester in 1969. It's a wonderful story worth googling! An old man now, he was alpha male for a while.*
UPDATE *Sadly, Boris died on the 26th July, 2024, aged 58
