Shopping
Lehel is one of Budapest’s busiest and most popular markets. Far from the glitter of the central-market, by Liberty bridge, where everyone will tell you to go (I admit it’s worth it, I even shop there!), Lehel is informal and 100% authentic.
Everything (or almost) here is fresh and Hungarian. No surprise actually since the market is located in the 13th district, a lively Magyar neighborhood. Lehel is however easily reachable from the city-centre by metro 3 or on foot from Nyugati railway station.
The market hall’s architecture is pretty hard to define, a crossing between a boat and a Greek temple in kitsch yellowish colors, with some plants for the green touch!

trolleys Nr 74, Nr 76
Budapest has a fairly extensive public transportation system. A wide variety of trams, buses, trolleys and underground trains run in the city. Night service is quite reliable, too. Vehicles are usually crowded, mostly during rush hours, and traffic can be rather slow.
