If you are in Norway for the first time, you might not know that Norwegians are obsessed with bread and baked goods. It can almost be difficult to find the normal white, ready cut bread that the rest of the world associates with bread. As we say in Norway "ta deg en bolle", translated directly to "Take a bun", often said it a comical maner when asking someone to relax or calm down. But hey, why not? The big buns with raisins or cinnamon knots are delicious and the bread is national treasure. Just be aware, even if you see Norwegian adults and toddlers gobbling buns, the prices can be harder to swallow.

Sightseeing

Barcode has become a must visit for Oslo's own inhabitants, frequent as well as first-time visitors in Oslo. Bjørvika, has been under development for some years. Just by Jernbanetorget it's now all finally coming together with it's famous post-modern architecture, beach, restaurants, and not to mention the Norwegian Opera house. The Much museum has been established here, surrounded by fancy restaurants as well as street food wagons. There is also a lot of cool activities, such as saunas (badstue in Norwegian), concert spaces such as "Salt" as well as rentals for water activities. A must visit that shows how diverse Oslo can be, all in one walkable area.
