Sightseeing
These are the ruins that give the town its name. These are the only sea-side pyramids. It is a small area, but you can't say you were in Tulum and didn't see the ruins.
Pro-Tip: if you don't want to enter the ruins, you can see the most iconic pyramid from the beach. Go to Playa maya and just walk north. You'll eventually spot the pyramid on top of a cliff.

Arts & Culture
This is a bit farther away (about a 45 minute drive - you can also take and ADO bus), but I do think it is a much more interesting site than Tulum. Don't get me wrong, Tulum's archaeological site has stunning views of the Caribbean, but this place has an incredible tall pyramid that you can still climb, right in the middle of the jungle and above the canopy. Can't beat that.

Food Scene
This is a street food stand that has become iconic in town. They serve pork in three different version: Cochinita Pibil, Lechón and Asada (Poc Chuc), all in either tacos or tortas (sandwhiches). The Poc Chuc is amazing here. The place opens very early and by noon they might be done, so get there early.
