With more than 10 trails, you can hike for dozens of miles and still find new adventures. The three mile drive to the preserve takes you past the beautiful Ohio river and cuts through the Limestone hills. Our favorite trail might be Sycamore Trail in the heat of the day and in the morning or late afternoon, we love them all. There's a playground for the kiddos and park shelters that work well for an impromptu picnic or larger gathering.

The Maysville Players put on live theatre shows fit for a metropolitan area, not a town of 10,000! We saw Three Viewings, Heaven Can Wait, Love Letters and Music Man Junior and every time could not believe how much talent our directors and actors brought onto the stage. If you're in town when their seasonal shows are playing, you need to find time! The bar serves beer, wine and spirits to enjoy throughout the productions too!

This museum has so much under multiple roofs. The Browning miniature collection is said to be one of the best in the world and I could always spend a couple hours seeing new details and admiring the buildings. The Pogue Experience showcases our local distillery and grounds you in the history of Kentucky bourbon. The regional history is outstanding and showcases Steve White art. Finally, the traveling exhibits are always topnotch. We saw aviation, ocean liner and prohibition exhibitions that we came back multiple times to see.

The smaller group distillery tour is a great grounding for distillery newbies or experts and the guides can personalize each tour to your group's interests and knowledge levels. Distilleries and bourbon are a very relevant way to understand quickly the history and economy of Maysville and Mason county and the bourbon and rye are superb. The Pogue home is beautiful and historic. If you only have a couple days in Maysville this is a great way to spend it.

In 1953, Rosemary Clooney debuted her film the Stars are Singing here and today it is on the National Registry of Historic Places. A local non-profit shows films on Saturdays for a donation. We watched Wizard of Oz, Ghostbusters, Back to the Future and Young Frankenstein. The older theater ambience makes a classic movie that much better!
