Great hiking trails, beautiful beach with 2 miles of empty shoreline on Lake Michigan, restrooms, camping, fishing, a boat launch, a blockhouse to explore, and picnic shelters. In the winter, return for the Winter Park featuring ice skating, XC skiing, and a public luge on which to practice for the next olympic contest!

Beautiful sugar sand beach, changing facilities, paid parking, great for watching (or flying your own) kite surfers on a windy day. If the waves are large youll also spot a few surfers. Very safe beach for young swimmers. If you’d like the water a bit warmer, locate yourself between the “arms” of the channel. Or choose a Muskegon Lake beach.

These people are great! And busy on weekends. Call ahead to book canoes, kayaks, tubes, and 6 person rafts. We take a 3 hour trip, stop along the way for snacks, pass perhaps 10-15 cottages but the rest is completely natural with turtles, deer, herons and eagles if you’re vigilant. A quick 30-40 minute drive north.
