Transportation
I suggest transportation if planning to go around the island, it is small, but not as small for walking.
Nützliche Sätze
Spanish is the local language
Even though english may be common around, using some Spanish is appreciated by locals:
-Yes/No: Sí/No
-Good morning: Buenos días
-Good afternoon Buenas tardes
-Good evening/night: Buenas noches
-Excuse me: Disculpe
-Do you speak English / French / Deutch?: Habla inglés/francés/alemán?

Asking for directions
In Vieques, and Puerto Rico in general, getting directions is tricky. Directions are given by references, not necessarily by address. You will find common descriptions like, “keep straight and make a left after the blue house...”.
