Plantations on highway 61 are a must!
Traffic is heavy on 61 (Ashley River Road) between 8-9 am and 5-6 pm. It is a historic road so it can not be widened or changed in any way. There are a few plantations to see on 61 if you turn right out of the complex onto 61. These are must sees if you want to experience the old Charleston.
